Carmageddon is the original freeform driving sensation, where pedestrians (and cows!) equal points, and your opponents are a bunch of crazies in a twisted mix of automotive killing machines. The game features anarchic drive-wherever-you-like gameplay and over-the-top surreal comedy violence. It’s the racing game where racing is for wimps.

Now the same Mac & PC classic that was BANNED AROUND THE WORLD is back and available on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch!

Carmageddon features real-world environments that have been turned into killing fields, where the locals stay out on the streets at their peril. As well as using your car as a weapon, every level is sprinkled generously with power-ups that have a vast variety of mad effects, adding a whole extra level of craziness to the proceedings. In every event you have the option to “play it your way”… Waste all your opponents, kill every pedestrian, or (perish the thought) complete all the laps.

ABOUT STAINLESS GAMES
Stainless was founded in 1994 by Patrick Buckland, a veteran of the games industry going back to the Jurassic period of 1982, and Neil Barnden, who used to have hair like a mammoth. A team of 8 worked on the original Carmageddon at Stainless, and 5 are still with the company today, although a couple of them are now kept manacled in a small padded room in the cellar.

Stainless Games now employs well over fifty mad, dedicated people of assorted gender, height and width. They can all be found dangling precariously from a small chalky rock just off the South Coast of England.

Brings me back 15 years. I hope they expand on this app and add some of the DLC content or wish we could add our own
Had to watch the entire opening for the first time in almost 15 years. Loved it! Great to play again, even tho t were only on this I-Plaid. :-/
Its the good old carmaggedon. I prefer the controls on a keyboard, but thats hardly the apps fault! Great features, free app, thanks.

Some bad moments

I loved this game when it first came out on PC way back. When I saw this available for download I almost screamed with excitement. Playing it was another story. The controls are easy enough to figure out, the graphics are a travesty. The car drives like its on ice. What is going on? Great idea , very poor execution. I will not purchase the full version or even play the free version anymore until I see an update. Come on stainless, get your act together.
When I saw this game reviewed on iPad Today last week, I knew I had to download it and at least try it. Dont have an iPad yet, but on my iPhone it is fairly easy to play. All the sounds and tracks and cars I remember from the game that was banned many years ago. While I definitely enjoy the experience, steering is going to take either some more use to learn, or change the settings so that tilt turns the car. Am pleased to see that the original bans didnt let this one go away, and that Apple has allowed the game on the App Store. I hope there is a version coming for the Mac OS, now that iOS has it.
Was looking for a twisted metal type of game. This helps. No shooting but chaos ensues
Just perfect .. Controls are great, everything is there, including the iconic music.
So glad this is on iOS and the fear factory soundtrack remained! Looking forward to the next release of carmageddon
I had this game for my PC growing up. I love love love this game.
